St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) is one of Ethiopia’s largest public teaching and tertiary referral hospitals. Established as a hospital in 1968 and transformed into a medical college in 2010, it operates under the Federal Ministry of Health and serves as a major center for specialized healthcare, medical education, and clinical research.
The hospital has more than 700 inpatient beds and treats over 1,200 emergency and outpatient visitors daily. SPHMMC provides comprehensive services including emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, neurology, nephrology, intensive care, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, physiotherapy, dentistry, and HIV/AIDS care. It also trains undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare professionals while conducting biomedical and public health research.
