Dorze Lodge is a distinctive mountain retreat in the Dorze highlands near Arba Minch, situated at an elevation of approximately 2,800 meters. The lodge combines traditional Dorze architectural style with modern comforts, including distinctive thatched bamboo huts, en-suite bathrooms, and panoramic highland views. Its restaurant serves local and international dishes, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and traditional Ethiopian flavors.
Guests can participate in guided mountain trekking, traditional weaving workshops, Ethiopian coffee ceremonies, village walks, music and dance experiences, and cultural excursions. The lodge has operated as a community-based tourism initiative since 2007 and works closely with local Dorze residents, guides, and artisans. It is also a convenient base for exploring Dorze villages, the surrounding highlands, and excursions toward Nechisar National Park and Lake Chamo.
